CGTN Dialogue | United Nations General Assembly

The United Nations is a platform for cooperation among countries worldwide. But the first-ever virtual UN General Assembly, pushed online by the pandemic, has witnessed fraying international relations and a sense of rising tension globally. As COVID-19 rages on, many countries are struggling. All this while the world's two largest economies appear to be moving away from, rather than towards, better cooperation. So what can be expected at the UN General Assembly amid COVID-19? How have China-U.S. tensions affected this multilateral organization and its agendas? And what can major powers do to tackle current challenges?

Guests: Jeffrey Sachs, Director of UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), Professor of Columbia University; Wang Huiyao, President of the Center for China and Globalization(CCG) ; Fraser Cameron, Director of EU-Asia Center, Brussels.
